A favorite pastime for many families in Macomb county every fall is to spend a Saturday or Sunday at one of the many local cider mills and orchards our area has to offer. Cider and doughnuts, carmel and candied apples, and apple picking are just a few of the staples you'll find at our local cider mills and orchards.

We've put together a list of 13 local cider mills and orchards you'll want to know about if you're considering taking part in this Macomb tradition this year.

3. Brookwood Fruit Farm

7845 Bordman Road, Almont MI

Open everyday 9AM - 5PM

You'll love this 5th generation fruit farm featuring over 40 varieties of apples, peaches, cherries and raspberries. They also make fresh, un-pasteurized cider every week.

4. Hy's Cider Mill

Weekends only 9/10-11/6 open from 11am-6pm

Visit this working cider mill with u-pick apples and petting farm. Hy's also features pumpkins, baked goods, farm market and a picnic area in a beautiful country setting with scenic overlooks.

5. Middleton Farms Cider Mill

Established in 1956, the family-owned cider mill is a hidden gem in Macomb county. Freshly made cider, donuts, pies, caramel apples and more!

6. Miller's Big Red Apple Orchard

4900 32 Mile Rd, Washington Twp MI

Monday – Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm

Acres and acres of orchards, farm and fields for you to enjoy this legendary local producer of fresh fruit, produce and herbs. Miller's amazing Marketplace features home made baked goods, gourmet condiments and many local products. 

Don't forget to enjoy their fresh made cider, donuts and caramel apples. 

Fall features include picnics, petting farm, hayrides, corn maze, straw mountain and u-pick apples.

7. Stoney Creek Orchard and Cider Mill

Enjoy fresh cider made from Stoney Creek's traditional mill and hot freshly made donuts in their Donut House. Pick fresh apples and fruits at their u-pick farm or visit their store for fresh produce, hand-made pies, caramel apples, pumpkins, jams, jellies, syrups and more.

8. Verellen Orchards

For 95 years Verellen has been providing fresh fruit in season including strawberries, cherries, plums, peaches, pears and of course, APPLES!

9. Westview Orchards and Winery

Daily from 8am-6pm

Fall family activities include 3-acre playground, outdoor and indoor petting farms, log obstacle course, straw mountain, tire mountain, rope mountain and Spookley the Square Pumpkin children's maze.

Additional weekend activities include 6-acre corn maze, 40-foot slide, wagon rides, corn cannon and apple slingshot. 

Donuts, pies, cider and more are available for purchase at the Cider Mill.

10. Goodison Cider Mill

13. Yates Cider Mill

Nestled alongside the Clinton River, this area staple has been providing delicious cider since the 1800's. Yate's cider flavors evolve throughout the season as different varieties of apples come to harvest. Every bottle of cider has its own unique flavor during the Fall. 

On weekends in the fall you can enjoy food favorites such as knackwurst, hot dogs, cinnamon almonds and cotton candy. Don't forget to stop by the fudge shop where several varieties of fudge are made. 

The Apple Tent features fresh picked apples and a variety of treats and sweets. 

Don't forget to take a relaxing stroll along the 1/2 mile walking trail along the beautiful Clinton River.
